HM THOMPSON

From Louisville, Kentucky, Thompson is primarily a ceramic and installation artist with a background in graphic design, and photography. Thompson graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and a Master of Fine Arts with a concentration in ceramics from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
Much of their work focuses on social constructions of gender through a lens of adolescence, utilizing candy and artifice as a seductive form of subversive sweetness. While their past installations and sculptures reference these themes, Thompson's most recent work takes specific and radical interest in them. They currently live in Baltimore, MD with their partner, one floppy cat, and their three dogs, Annie Poop, Chicken and Banana.
